By 1996, WCBS had rebranded itself as '2 News', with a slick new orange and blue colour scheme and a new theme, News Force from Non-Stop Music. This coincided with one of the most turbulent times in the station's history, in which ratings were dropping and talent was leaving left and right, culminating in the stunning firing of seven on-air personalities, including both lead anchors.
