After years of using a simple wide shot and lower-third animation, WABC introduced full CGI titles to its newscast in 1984 along with the updated music. Other than the new titles and music, however, the general on-air look remained largely the same as that introduced in 198Tom Snyder is in this clip, having joined WABC the year before to start what would appear to be a very rocky run. What is he doing with his hands?
