Within These Walls

Within These Walls was a highly regarded LWT drama series set within the confines of HMP Stone Park, a fictitious women’s prison. The show’s successful five-series run spanned from 1974 to 1978, consisting of a total of 72 episodes. British film actor Googie Withers was cast as the series’ lead character, the impeccably presented and refined governor Faye Boswell. Each episode centred around Faye’s efforts to introduce more progressive policies and practices into the prison’s administration while balancing her home life.
