This is from the launch of Talbot's replacement for the Sunbeam. Although it was a new body shell, Talbot's parent company, the PSA Group, were very short of money and so the new car had to reuse the chassis and running gear for the 3 door version of the Peugeot 104. The Samba did however get a handsome cabriolet version styled by Pininfarina.
