BBC News Channel 2013 – 2019

On 18th March 2013, The BBC news operations were relocated to the refurbished Broadcasting House. From the same date the presentation and graphics were given a refresh.

In 2015 as part of budget cuts, major changes took place which resulted in the axing of some bulletins and replacing them with Victoria Derbyshire and BBC Business Live with Sally Bundock and Ben Thompson in the morning. Outside Source with Ros Atkins – an “interactive” show already broadcast on BBC World News – aired Mondays-Thursday at 21:00 and a new edition of World News Today Friday-Sunday at 21:00. This resulted in only 10 hours of live UK based news each day, from the news channel. Victoria Derbyshire, started on 7 April 2015, however the programme was cut back to a one hour block on 5th November 2018. BBC Newsroom Live started on 21 March 2016, 100 days started on 23rd January 2017, while Afternoon live started 9th October 2017.
