This recording was taken in 1991 from a Sky News simulcast of 'Vremya' which means 'time'. The presenters are Galina Zimenkova and Evgeny Kochergin. In this clip they welcome viewers with a hello. Vremya first started on the 1st January 1968 and the theme is composed by Georgiy Sviridov. During the days of USSR, it was re-broadcast by ALL tv channels. The programme was discontinued in August 1991, due to Coup, but returned on Channel One (that time Public Russian Television – ORT) since its re-launch on 1st April 1995, as late news edition.
