M*A*S*H

The series concerns a group of fictional characters who served at the fictional 4077th Mobile Army Surgical Hospital during the Korean War, loosely based on a novel, MASH: A Novel About Three Army Doctors written by Richard Hooker based on his own experience serving as a surgeon at M*A*S*H unit 8055 during the Vietnam war. Starring Alan Alda, the series ran from 1972 to 1983 but M*A*S*H has exsisted in various forms since 1968 untill 1986. The theme, "Suicide Is Painless" was written by Johnny Mandel, with lyrics added later by Mike ALtman. Left – Titles with brief BBC2 ident Right – Credits
