Ten Years of LWT

Within a year of launching "It'll Be Alright On The Night" in 1977, Denis Norden had become the go-to guy for archive clip shows. This made him the perfect choice to host this retrospective look at the first ten years of LWT. There are plenty of nostalgic clips on show, but this hour-long programme is far from being a glowing white-wash. Norden spends a lot of time – perhaps too much time – explaining how the company was formed by David Frost and his high-minded consortium, before looking at the creative tensions, dismal ratings, declining advertising revenues and blood-soaked boardroom disputes that dogged the station's first five years on air.
