Ricky Boleto

Ricky is known to millions of children as the face of CBBC’s ‘Newsround’. For more than a decade, Ricky Boleto has travelled the world covering some of the biggest stories that affect young people’s lives.

In 2023 Ricky reported from Ukraine. The BBC documentary ‘Ukraine: The Children’s Story’ went on to win a Broadcast Award and has been nominated for many more including a Royal Television Society Award.

He has covered elections in both the UK and the USA, as well as hosted CBBC’s coverage of the Olympic Games in London and Rio.

A regular reporter for BBC Breakfast as well as a judge on the BBC Young Reporter competition judge, he champions young people’s voices across the BBC.

Between 2013-2017 Ricky was also a regular face on the BBC’s flagship consumer show ‘Watchdog.’   

He is married to former Newsround presenter, Leah Boleto and lives in Hertfordshire with his two young children.
