Lay Down Your Arms

Made as part of ITV Saturday Night Theatre, this play by Dennis Potter was inspired by his time as a Russian language clerk in the War Office, this play is set in 1956 during the Suez Crisis and the Soviet Invasion of Hungary, and focuses on Private Bob Hawk caught up in all of this at the London Intelligence Office.
