UTV 2002 – 2003 Branding

Monday 28th October 2002 was a landmark day for UTV. For the first time, it was part of an attempt to implement a generic ident package across all ITV regions – but on its own terms. They took the network idents, but they clung unto their own name, their own logo and their own announcing staff. Shortly after taking up the network offerings, they even produced their own versions with station talent filmed in their studios at Havelock House, Belfast.All of the celebrity idents were withdrawn from use in early 2003, however the generic blue idents were kept in use, until January 2006..
