A western series by Glen A. Larson, ‘Alias Smith and Jones,’ followed outlaws Hannibal Hayes (Pete Duel) and Kid Curry (Ben Murphy) as they attempted to reform. The show, which lasted three seasons, faced a tragic turn when Duel passed away from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot during the first season. Roger Davis replaced Duel, but the show’s charm diminished, leading to its cancellation just over two years after its debut.
