The Ash Tree

For the 5th film in the BBC's Ghost Story for Christmas Strand, director Lawrence Gordon Clark adapted another M.R. James short story, The Ash Tree (1904), this one told the story of witchcraft in Suffolk in 1690, and how a local aristocrat Sir Matthew Fell (Edward Petherbridge) falls victim to a curse by an ash tree outside his bedroom window.
