Athens 2004 Promotion

With the 2004 Olympics just days away, the BBC pulled out all the stops to promote its forthcoming coverage from Athens. And to celebrate the return of the modern Games to its birthplace, a lavish promo featuring an athlete who adopts various sporting disciplines to make his way to the Olympic stadium. On the way he encounters fearsome icons from Greek mythology such as Neptune and Poseidon. A memorable film with various edits, but the high production values prompted criticism from some license-payers.
