Austin Ambassador

We think that this advert is from early 1982 when the Austin Ambassador was originally launched. (The high spec Vanden Plas model didn't come along until later in 1983.) It was designed to replace both the Austin Maxi and the Austin Princess. The Ambassador was designed by Harris Mann and was a refreshed body (with a hatchback) on the Princess chassis. In May 1984 the Ambassador and the Morris Ital were both replaced by the Austin Montego.
