The Sunday late news from the night of the Kegworth air crash. The announcer, Andy Cartledge, does not give the time of the next programmes we presume that the length of the news bulletin had not been finalised as the bulletin began. The bulletin is dominated by the crash of British Midland Flight BD92 on the M1 motorway as it was attempting to divert and land at East Midlands Airport whilst enroute from London Heathrow to Belfast. The accident claimed the lives of 47 people. The subsequent research carried out led to many improvements in particular around the brace position in emergency landings.
