BBC Persian TV, is the BBC World Service's second tv channel, publicly funded by British tax payers through The Foreign Office with an annual budget of ~£15million. Free to air it launched on 14th January 2009 broadcasting news and cultural documentaires for Farsi speakers in Iraq, Afganistan and surrounding regions. Satellite TV is actually illegal in Iran, despite this satellite tv is widespread across the country and this is where the majority of Persian speakers live. BBC Persian TV is broadcast from the BBC studios in Broadcasting House, London. The graphics package was designed by Lambie-Nairn inkeeping with the wider BBC News 'red and white' brand.
