BBC1 Schools – Blue Diamonds

The more famous BBC Schools diamond sequence introduced in Autumn term 1974 (normally September) was initially mechanical. It also heralded the introduction of colour to BBC Schools broadcasts. Between 1974 and 1975 the background was black with blue diamonds and text. Firstly, the diamond formed from the middle, and remained static for a while. One minute in, it pulsated constantly before breaking up into smaller diamonds at 30 seconds, then petering out.
