Newsnight on BBC2 was seven years away in 1973. But the second channel's late news tradition was already well-established, with the late bulletin known as News Extra. We don't have any titles for News Extra, but here you can see David Holmes close an edition from Summer 1973. And yes, the sound is out of sync with the pictures for some reason.
