Blue Peter

Mike Oldfield wrote this version of the theme which was used from January 1979, which Simon Groom filmed (and did the drum roll intro on), until June 1989. The programme's association with The Mary Rose stemmed from Sarah diving on the wreck as part of the archaeological surveys prior to the preparations for lifting the wreck from the seabed and to it's permanent home in Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, alongside HMS Victory and HMS Warrior.
