Boss Cat

When ‘Top Cat’ was first aired on the BBC in the 1960s the title was quickly changed to ‘The Boss Cat’ and later ‘Boss Cat’. The name change occurred as ‘Top Cat’ was already in use by a well-known cat food brand in the UK. However, the character continued to be addressed by his original name within the show and in the theme song. This clip comes from a 1979 broadcast.
