BBC One 2021 – Present Branding

On December 4th 2021, BBC One soft-launched new presentation based on the idea of a ‘lens’. Designed by BBC Creative and ManvsMachine based on the BBC’s “Chameleon” navigation system designed by Wolf Olins.

On the 1st April 2022, the full set of BBC One ‘lens’ idents were launched. There are 8 idents in the original package – Warehouse, Hall, Farmland, Market, Bench, Sky, Swimming Pool and Cafe.

ManvsMachine say, “We had the pleasure of collaborating with BBC Creative to create a full new suite of filmic BBC ONE idents, celebrating British culture through a range of people, places and time-spaces. A variety of scenarios are presented through a reconfigured Venn diagram system that also serves as a dynamic brand motif. The animated ‘lens’ motif is also used across all onscreen presentation elements creating a natural flow when viewed in situ.”
