Cinemax

Cinemax is the "sister" channel to Home Box Office. In the beginning, it functioned as sort of an HBO-2, although completely focused on movies. As HBO matured in the late 1990s and began to concentrate mainly on original movies and series instead of theatrical movies, Cinemax forged out a separate identity as the home of theatrical movies. There are now cross-promotions between the two services, something that was a rarity before. But always a standard of the channel: its late night soft-core pornography.
