Carlton (Westcountry)

Following the merger of Carlton and Granada, which led to the acquisition of Westcountry, ITV’s then-regional company for the South West, the station underwent rebranding that included new idents and music from Carlton. In contrast, for ITV West, operated by HTV at the time, Carlton opted to retain the existing ‘Hearts’ ident and endboards. Meanwhile, Granada took over the majority of HTV’s production facilities.
