UTV 2006 – 2007 Branding

The next change in UTV presentation was launched on Monday 16th January 2006, the same day ITV1-branded stations rolled out their “emotion” idents. UTV keep to the theme of panoramic shots of Northern Irish locations, with constant updates to the films featured in an inset inspired by – or borrowed from? – the network.

This year’s ident set featured festive scenes from the five cities of Northern Ireland – one each for Belfast, Newry, Lisburn and Armagh; and two versions for the second city, each labelled Derry City and Londonderry City. Were the sparkling stars seen in other presentation elements that Christmas a tribute to Southern Television, we wonder?

2007 – 2009

Addition idents were introduced on 9th July 2007 with the tagline “It’s All About U”.We don’t have any in our archives can you help?

2009

In January 2009 a new set of idents appearing, with the background changing from black to white.We don’t have any in our archives can you help?

2009 – 2011

On 6th April 2009, the ident were changed again with the background changing from white to blue.
