News Channels

Sky News was the pioneering 24-hour dedicated news channel to launch in the United Kingdom, established in 1989. BBC News 24 was launched in 1997 and eventually rebranded as BBC News in 2008. The only news channel to be discontinued in the UK was the ITV News Channel, which was scrapped in 2005.
