CBS Saturday Night Movies

This distinctive movie open, dating to 1983, was produced by Jay Teitzell (who produced most of CBS' on-air graphics during the early 1980s). CBS' distinctive Bodoni typeface is prominent here, and would become a major part of the network's on-air presentation. It's all built around a creative animation which sees the CBS eye formed by a long, curling strip of film. It also features the first use of Bill Conti's rousing theme music.
