CBS Sunday Movie

CBS had the movie opens redone in 1988. While they kept the basic animation and theme, they made substantial revisions to both. The flying objects are now given a deeper, more regal color scheme – the fonts have been changed to Onyx, which CBS was using heavily in its promos. Advancements in technology allow for more realistic illumination and reflections, which are not present in the previous open. However, the most notable change is the revised theme. The theme now begins with a solo horn fanfare, but soon gives way to the traditional melody. The entire theme is given a slower, but more lush orchestration. Is it better than its predecessor?
