BBC1 Children’s Continuity

This is a typical line up of BBC Children’s Programme for the time, a mix of home grown live action shows with a few imported (mostly American) cartoons added in. The cheery electric music is also very much of the time. This day, however, wasn’t typical, as it was the official announcement of Charles and Diana’s engagement. Normally, if something important happened BBC 1 would broadcast that and children’s programmes would shift to BBC 2.
