After Thames Television lost their franchise, The Sooty Show, (which had been on Thames since the day they started in 1968, having been poached from the BBC), ended. The rights were picked up by Granada Television, and Sooty and Co. was born, which had Matthew Corbett being left a bric-a-brac shop by a distant auntie up in Manchester. It was the same antics as before, but now in a shop up north!
