Originally, a Hillman, in 1976 the Avenger got a rename (to bring it into line with it's American parent company) and a styling revamp at the front and rear. The GLS was a high spec range topper. Renamed again, in 1979, when Peugeot – Citroen bought out Chrysler's european operation, to become a Talbot. Production ended in 1981 alongside the Sunbeam.
