Thames Clock

Two examples of a Thames clock which was in use for at least ten years, right up until around 1989. This would have been a monochrome mechanical model, with colour added electronically. The text appears to be letraset and it was changed whenever the transmission suite deemed necessary; for example, it would give the date, or it would state ‘Goodnight’ at closedown and ‘Season’s Greetings’ at Christmas. It was also often seen at programme junctions with ITN.
