Coast to Coast People was launched in 1987 as a spin-off to the main programme. It was usually broadcast in a weekday lunchtime slot and focused on one long interview with a celebrity or local news maker. Each half of the region had its own edition presented usually by the secondary presenter – Fern Britton in the South and Mike Fuller/Liz Wickham in the South East.
