Doctor Who

Although this 1970 season of Doctor Who was the first to be made in colour, the programme was primarily archived and syndicated as 16mm black-and-white film prints until 1974 – and it wasn’t until then that most TV viewers in the UK were viewing the programme on colour sets.

This clip illustrates the only time in the series’ history when the programme title ‘Doctor Who’ was repeated as part of the serial title: ‘Doctor Who and the Silurians’.
