A year into their use, designer Sid Sutton refreshed his ‘star field’ titles in 1982 when Peter Davison took on the title rôle. Rather than dissolving the actor’s face onto the likeness made of stars, the photograph wipes in in a ‘venetian blind’ pattern. There are also some subtle variations on the opening starburst effect. In this clip The Doctor encounters one of his arch nemeses, The Daleks.
