After an extended break to raise her family, Caroline Fairchild (Penelope Keith) makes the decision to return to work. Securing a position as an Editorial Director at Oasis, a prominent London publishing company, Caroline eagerly anticipates her new role. However, on her very first day, an unexpected twist unfolds as Oasis acquires the company that employs her husband, Donald (Peter Bowles).
