An open from 2004 featuring weekend anchor Tom Butler. WPTY adopted the Eyewitness News name and image in 2003. The station's news department didn't exist before 1996 (after an affiliation swap with WHBQ), and the station has consistently been trying to find its niche. WPTY and WLMT (UPN) are owned by the same company, and share a news department and news image.
