The titles and set were altered in 1981. A huge circle-7 was placed in the center of the set, and an Eyewitness News logo animation – nearly identical to the one used at KABC Los Angeles – also featured. Other than that, nothing else significantly changed – the ribbon logo and lower thirds were still in effect here. Kaity Tong – who joined WABC in 1981 – is subbing for Roger, as Bill reads the top story in his own inimitable style. Wally Parker is the announcer here.
