The end of this edition of Eyewitness News, like the tease and open, is again unusual. Following a brief retrospective by Joel Siegel, Roger Grimsby closes with a note about the memorial service for Lennon. Then, he delivers a terse signoff: "I'm Roger Grimsby, goodnight." No hoping our news is good news, because on this night, the news clearly was not. "Love Me Do" plays us out as Bill Beutel looks towards the ceiling with a haunting expression on his face.
