Eyewitness News Blackout

From 1977 to 1978, Larry Kane was the solo anchor of the 11pm Eyewitness News. Kane is considered the "dean" of Philadelphia newscasters, but his stint at WABC was rocky at best. A lot of it was his style – Kane helped originate the Action News format at WPVI in Philadelphia, which is built around lots of fast-paced stories than personalities. Kane is in full, breathless Action News mode in this newscast after the 1977 blackout.
