GMTV was given a complete makeover in January 2009, following the departure of Fiona Phillips. GMTV announced two new presenters as part of the new look – Emma Crosby, aged 31 poached from Sky News and Kirsty McCabe, as weather presenter (poached from the BBC) “We wanted to freshen up the programme for the New Year,” continued GMTV’s Peter McHugh. “And the addition of Emma and Kirsty to our already established presenting team is part of that plan. We’ll be sprucing up the set too, so our viewers will have a lot to look forward to.”
