In-vision Continuity – Phillip Schofield

On Monday 9th September 1985, BBC1 introduced umbrella branding for children's programmes, almost three years after ITV. An unknown presenter, Phillip Schofield, was chosen to front what initially was known as BBC Children's Presentation. Philip would introduce programmes in-vision, and liveE, from "The Broom Cupboard" – in reality the BBC1 continuity desk.
