Shown by Associated-Rediffusion on opening night. The Guildhall in London was the location for a lavish dinner in honour of the launch of Independent Television. On the menu was Clear Turtle Soup, Lobster Chablis and Roast Grouse. Speeches were given by The Right Honourable The Lord Mayor of London Sir Seymour Howard, The Postmaster-General Doctor The Right Honourable Charles Hill MP and the Chairman of the Independent Television Authority Sir Kenneth Clark. Our clip shows the first two of those speeches.
