Live At Five did not, of course, stay dead for long. The Today show's then-new streetside set afforded the perfect opportunity to revive the news-and-entertainment format. As before, Live at Five is relatively separated from News 4 New York, gaining a jazzy cut of "4 New York". Matt Lauer was appointed as Sue's latest "anchor husband" – Lauer and Roker would, of course, go on to the Today show itself. The revived format did not last long; within a year it was reverted back to a more formal newscast, although the name was retained.
