The new logo and campaign had a "soft launch" during the 1992 olympics. The full new look would not launch until that fall – therefore a temporary open was created with the new logo, and stock music was adopted as the theme. This Olympics open differs from the normal temp open – a different cut of music is used, and NBC's Olympic logo is used in place of the normal peacock.
