The Six O’Clock News 1984 – 1993

BBC Six O’Clock News was launched on 3rd September 1984, replacing the early evening news magazine Sixty Minutes, to become the BBC’s Flagship news programme. Originally presented by Sue Lawley and Nicholas Witchell. Sue left in the Summer 1988 and Nicholas left in early autumn 1989. At which time Peter Sissons, Moira Stuart and Anna Ford were the main presenters with help from Andrew Harvey and John Humphrys.
