The Six O’Clock News 1984 – 1993

BBC Six O’Clock News launched on 3 September 1984, replacing the early evening news magazine Sixty Minutes. The bulletin was the BBC’s Flagship news programme, originally presented by Sue Lawley and Nicholas Witchell. By 1989, Peter Sissons, Moira Stuart, Andrew Harvey, John Humphrys and Anna Ford became the main presenters.
