Home at Six 1960s

On Sept 30th 1957 the BBC regional news programme “News of the North” produced in Dickenson Road studios in Manchester was first broadcast to the whole of the north of England from Holme Moss and Pontop Pike.In 1962 Pontop Pike started broadcasting the BBC Newcastle regional opt out “Home at 6 to the North East, and the Holme Moss opt-out covering Yorkshire and Lancashire was re-named “North at 6”.
