From Autumn 1979, a new set of titles for Reporting Scotland was unveiled, which used MacArthur Park Suite by Donna Summer as it’s theme.

In September 1980, the theme was changed to Jubilation by Jeff Wayne, but the titles remained the same.

In January 1981, the titles were updated but kept Jubilation by Jeff Wayne.
In January 1983, Reporting Scotland got a new look, which used Fanfare For The Common Man by Emerson, Lake and Palmer as it’s theme.
When Sixty Minutes launched on Monday 24th October 1983, the news was rebranded Scotland Sixty Minutes. Patrick Chalmers, BBC Scotland’s controller was unhappy at this change and wanted to opt-out of most of the networked Sixty Minutes, but this was rejected by BBC Director General Alasdair Milne.
