Newsround 2002 – 2008

On 11th February 2002 Newsround was given a new look as part of the new digital CBBC channel. The bulletins were planned for at 7.30am, 8am, 8.30am, 12.30pm, 1pm and 1.30pm plus a new programme called Newsround Lite which had the latest on celebrity gossips at 6.25pm., which complemented the main BBC one bulletin. The first presenter was Lizzie Greenwood. She said: "I was unbelievably nervous but everything went according to plan, It was a real honour to be the first Newsround presenter on the new channel." Further changes took place on on 30th May 2006.
