Lorraine Chase starred as Cockney model Lorraine Watts whose love affair with upper-class Tory MP Charles Latimer (John Standing) began when they met by chance in a restaurant. At the time, Charles had a fiancee, Sybilla Howarth (Patricia Hodge), and Lorraine had a boyfriend, Brian Sweeney (Steve Adler).
